Workshop 12 - Sustainable Packaging for a World in Danger

The sustainability factor is key in the development of new food products. And in this sense, packaging has a key role. Producers must find sustainable solutions that respond to the consumer's concern for the environment.
96% of brands consider packaging a strategic factor and consumers are increasingly giving importance to the use of recyclable materials, renewable, light and with a minimal environmental footprint.
This is an innovative and sustainable sector in which design and production have to consider the reduction of packaging waste, through prevention, reuse and recycling. In this way, it contributes to the reduction of gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. However, it is not a contamination problem that we have to face. It is a problem of packaging design.
In the idea of contributing to the goal of Better Communities, the seminar will try that the participant devises a solution to the alimentary packaging, from all the own considerations of the packaging: ethical, functional and identity. The result will be an innovative proposal that can be considered by an R & D & I project to improve the production process, reducing the environmental impact.
