Workshop 13 - The Urban Environment as a Playground for the Designer

Workshop

The Urban Environment as a Playground for the Designer - The Designer as a Provocateur of Thought

Speaking only to a limited and clearly defined group has its obvious benefits, but if we are to evoke change we need to address a larger audience. The urban landscape is an empty canvas for the artist to explore and communicate with.

In this course we will investigate following themes:
–Taking design back to the streets using new means
–Getting away from the trap of designing for other designers
–Seeking to evoke response from the public
–Democratic communication within the public sphere

We'll be using comics as our main medium. Previous experience of creating comics is not required.
