Ich packe meinen Koffer – ein Desasterentwurf

Workshop Description

In an emergency, good advice is hard to come by and time is running out. What do I need? What do I need to look out for? Where can I find information?

In light of extreme weather, flooding, droughts, and power outages, the development of forward-looking solutions is more relevant than ever—solutions that need to be designed.

In this course, we ask ourselves the following questions: How can we respond to disaster situations that are also increasingly threatening Germany? In short: How do we design for emergencies?

Participants quickly design and implement prototypes tailored to different acute scenarios. Interdisciplinary teams work together to create designs that have the potential to save lives.

Educational Goal

The course aims to generate designs as quickly as possible with just a few key pieces of background information. Over the course of the course, participants receive additional information and challenges tailored to their specific disaster, which are used to encourage the teams to engage in iterative processes. They learn to deal with short-term changes during a project and, ideally, to be prepared for them through their design approach.
